Robert L. Fischer

FEATURED POET JUNE AND JULY 2011

I was born on September 10, 1927, in a farmhouse three miles southwest of Roanoke, Illinois.

My first eight years of schooling were at Schertz School, a small country school with all eight grades in one room.  My four years of high school were in roanoke, where I graduated in 1945.

My work years started on the farm and ended with a career in the U.S. Post Office, after thirty years of service as a letter carrier.

My current residence is in Morton, Illinois.
